The *2013 Atlantic hurricane season* is an event in the annual cycle of
tropical cyclone formation. The season officially started on June 1 and
will end on November 30. These dates conventionally delimit the period of
each year when most tropical cyclones form in the Atlantic basin. The first
system, Andrea, developed on June 5, made landfall along the Florida Big
Bend on June 6, and became a post-tropical cyclone on June 7 while in North
Carolina after merging with a cold front. The most recent storm to date,
Barry, dissipated on June 20.
