Hi, I'm Stephanie Gallagher for About.com, and today, I'll show you an easy
method for telling when chicken breasts are cooked through.

-Method for How to Tell When Chicken Breasts Are Done-

This method applies whether you're using bone-in chicken breasts or
boneless skinless chicken breasts. Now it doesn't matter how you're cooking
your chicken - it could be in the oven, on the grill, in a saute pan,
whatever. The only reliable method for telling when chicken breasts are
done is to use an instant-read thermometer, like this one.

-Instructions for Telling When Chicken Breasts Are Done-

Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the breast meat, and if
your chicken breasts have bones, make sure you stay away from the bone.
Hold it there for 30 seconds to a minute. The chicken is safely cooked when
it reaches 165 degrees F. Now let the chicken breasts rest and serve.
