Default --------------------I know I should have asked this on my
last post, but, does audio come through the s-video cable or do I have to
run a seperate cable just for sound? To my recelection sound comes through
when you plug in a camcorder.

Though you probably use your television quite often, you may not be
acquainted with the subtle nuances of what goes where and how to do so,
especially with older technology like S-video cables. Here are a couple of
ways to ensure your success in using S-video cables by choosing the correct
cable for your purposes and installing the cable correctly.

Choosing the Correct S Cable -

*Review your technology.* Before you do anything else, take stock of the
current pieces of technology in your possession. Do you have multiple video
cables? How old is your TV? Is it old enough that purchasing a new cable
won't really make a difference? Does your component (e.g., your DVD player
or receiver) even have an S-video input? These are all things you should
know before you start researching S-video cables.

· For example, S-video cables are generally used for achieving
standard-definition--in most cases, 480i. If your TV is rated for 1080p,
you're much better off using an HDMI cable than an S-video cable.^[1]
· S-video cables' main claim to fame is their image quality improvement
over composite cables.
